agrr..wat happen to stoopid blogger, how come i cant seem to change the colour of the font man! =(
okok, enough of my whining..haha..shall start blogging abt my 'exciting' 4days ignite change camp! woohoo~~~ =D
hmm, i didnt had much expectations abt the camp to start with becoz the comm didnt really planned the camp out very well, to add on to it, there wasn't much sponsorships for external organizations and the committee wasn't bonded in the first place. we didn't knew the rest of the comm well, except for our rsp members, i was also reluctant to attend all 4days of the camp, but little did i actually expect that there was a things seem to have taken a turn after i attended the first day...
i didnt expect 60plus volunteers to turn out for the camp. and the most unexpected thung for camp is that the freshies are very enthu and HIGH people! i thought the whole camp will be damn sian but i really enjoyed myself alot maybe bcoz i am now a senior and i get to take care of the freshies=) perhaps i just love taking care of ppl, and being their nanny=P besides that, the group names were very interesting becoz they were named after superheros with disability- bumblebee, wolverine, kratos, hawkeye, echo and daredevil, interesting rite? we had telematch for day 1and i was a helper at one of the stations, and looking at the freshies do their cheers makes me reminisce the time when i was a freshie back then, where the og cheered tgt to earn pts. time really flies! had fright night too, but my station was sooo brightly lighted that we had a hard time trying to scare ppl so we gave up halfway..zzz!
as for day 2, we had VH stimulation whereby the freshies experienced the life of being a visually-handicapped person and they have to rely on their partners to bring them through different obstacles, after which they had talks followed by the 'command and conquer' which is the waterbomb fight. but i left early to get stuff for our day which is the last day of camp. =X
on day 3, we had songsigning in one of the lt where we signed to the song 'I want it that way' after which we played amazing race ard singapore..my station was at clementi and we played the 'broken telephone' whereby freshies have to gesture the words of certain phrases from the first person to the last. had a good laugh looking at how some of them gestured out certain words like 'bird', 'apple', 'milk'..hahahx. i admit this batch of freshies are really quite cute. after the tiring amazing race, had dinner at bishan park and the grps practised their items for day 4 performance- which was our BIG day.
day 4 was like my first project for the elders, becoz i was like the point of contact between the igc comm and awwa home ever since we started out on this project. and i really felt like giving up at times when there was simply too much for me to juggle and cope with. but looking at the success of how day 4 turned out to be. i was proud of this little 'baby' of mine and at the same time i felt a great sense of satisfaction whenever i saw the smiles on the elderly faces. i was touched not just by the help offered by my day 4 comm members, but also some of the freshies. u guys really did great man! i guess i am starting to uds how it feels like being a coordinator, and i told myself i will take on this role and do it well just for the elderly and also myself. =) besides these, i have got to know nice friends which i can crap with from the different rsps, WSC is just a fun-loving and welcoming club to be in..whee~~~
i am getting excited abt wsc recruitment and i feel the urge to join igc again...=)looking fwd to hall camp and the busy weeks after sch starts.
