the start of a new year. let's bury the hatchet, the unhappiness and disappointment we had in 2011. at the same time, let's not forget to reminisce and treasure the good moments we had last year.
spent new year's day with the girls watching 'New Year's Eve':)
a movie to start a brand new year. (with mixed feelings)
there was this one scene in the movie that struck me in particular, especially what the actress said...
"It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps - our promises made, and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures - or closed ourselves down, for fear of getting hurt. Because that's what New Year's is all about: getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about 'what if' and start embracing what would be. So when that ball drops at midnight - and it will drop - let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long."
for all the mistakes made, for all the broken promises, a new year offers you another chance to amend what you've missed, and what you've done.it's about giving yourself and others a second chance before it's too late.
the past one year.
the BIGGEST transition of my life thus far:
from an undergrad who worries about her results and get spammed with lots of WSC emails, to an auditor who dreads OTs and looks forward to PH and leave.
the HAPPIEST moments:
time spent with my family, my bf and my beloved friends since pri to uni. Be it how long or short, how rare or frequent, thanks for being a part of my life. and i hope you can continue to play a part in it for as long as time allows.
the MOST-FULFILLING moments:
time well-spent with the elderly at AWWA and Renci. the elderly never fail to influence my perspective towards life and people.
“人最重要的是身体要健康,第二才去讲钞票。”
the words from uncle tan and the importance of treasuring one's life above all other pursuits in life. Speaking from his personal life experience of battling with his medical condition for 10 over years. My deepest respect for his optimism towards life.
My heartfelt wishes for all the elderly to stay healthy and happy for the new year ahead, and for them to enjoy the companionship of others during their golden ages:)
HAPPY 2012:)
